Manjushri Children’s Library, located in McLeod Ganj, Dharamshala, is a vibrant initiative by Manjushri Educational Services (MES), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting early childhood care and education within the Tibetan exile community. Established in 2016, the library serves as a nurturing space for children aged 0–10, aiming to foster early literacy and preserve Tibetan language and culture.

The library boasts a diverse collection of culturally relevant and age-appropriate books, including Tibetan folktales and educational materials. In 2023 alone, it welcomed 2,682 visitors and had 239 active members who borrowed over 3,000 books. Beyond lending books, the library organizes storytelling sessions, art activities, and workshops in collaboration with organizations like the Active Nonviolence Education Center and Tibetan Children’s Village Day School. Special programs such as summer and winter reading initiatives, reading hikes, and genre-based games further enrich the children’s learning experience.

MES has also produced and distributed early childhood activity booklets to thousands of children in India and Nepal, supporting holistic development and reinforcing the importance of Tibetan language education. Through its dedicated efforts, Manjushri Children’s Library plays a crucial role in nurturing young minds and strengthening cultural identity within the community.
