Chonor House is a boutique hotel located on Temple Road in McLeod Ganj, Dharamshala, adjacent to the Dalai Lama’s residence. Operated by the Norbulingka Institute, it offers a tranquil retreat amidst towering cedars, blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings of the Kangra Valley. The hotel features 11 uniquely themed rooms, each adorned with murals depicting regions of Tibet such as Kham, Amdo, and Central Tibet, as well as the flora and fauna of the Land of Snow. These artworks are complemented by appliquéd fabrics, hand-knotted carpets, and intricately carved wooden furniture, all handcrafted by Norbulingka artisans.

Guests can dine at the Hummingbird Restaurant, which serves a fusion of Tibetan, Indian, and international cuisines, prepared with locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant also features an in-house bakery offering freshly baked breads, cakes, and cookies daily. Additionally, Chonor House provides a library, comfortable lounge, and a courtyard beneath pine trees for relaxation. A small shop and internet café are also available on-site.
