Rural Litigation and Entitlement Kendra (RLEK), established in 1989 and registered under the Societies Registration Act, is a renowned NGO based in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Its mission is to “reach the unreached and include the excluded,” with a strong focus on empowering indigenous groups, marginalized populations, women, and children to claim their rights and entitlements under the Constitution of India. RLEK operates across diverse areas, including legal awareness, education (both formal and non-formal), environmental conservation, rural development, disaster management, and gender equity. Based at 68/1 Surya Lok Colony, Rajpur Road, Dehradun, the organization combines grassroots mobilization, community training, para-legal support, and public interest litigation to secure entitlements, protect human rights, and promote sustainable, just, and inclusive communities.
