From The Himalayas
Tungnath Temple is one of the most sacred Shiva temples in Uttarakhand and the third shrine of the Panch Kedar. Located at around 3,680 metres in Rudraprayag district near Chopta, Tungnath is widely described by Uttarakhand Tourism as the highest Shiva temple in the world. Reaching the temple requires a moderate trek of about 4 km from Chopta, making it a unique combination of pilgrimage, Himalayan scenery and trekking.
